Artist talk ... Sharon Louden

Wonderful artist talk, very informative. Sharon Louden talked of how to sustain a creative life.  She asked the question of the audience, What do you need as an artist?

I began to think of what I would need to be creative and create art. How do you have a practice of creating and be able to successfully sell / promote my work?

Art Studio Residency

Over the next 4 weeks I am in the studio residency program creating final works for the art exhibition.
I am enthusiastic about spending  hours creating art,  researching art information  and discussing art works with other artists.
I am going through my mono screenprinted images of antique objects I inherited, considering how others relate to the nostalgic view of the images.

Working in the studio. ..

Working in the studio,  antiquing copies of familt photos and ancestors  photos to use in my collage project.

Just a reminder to never use the original antique photos, make a digital copy so you can playfully create with them whenever you want.

Some of the pictures are of my ancestors, three generations past.

What I'm currently working on...

I have been  putting together the parts for a nostalgic  set of books. The pieces are being painted, printed, cut and ripped  to be assembled. Ithe photos  sjow the parts getting ready for assembly.

Back in the studio.

I am going to begin posting  what I am working on to keep track of my work and my process  of creating.

This first post of What is on my Studio Desk, is the papers  created  to look old and nostalgic,  like lace  and worn out sheet music.

College Graduation with Masters in Art

I have been away from my blog, busy working on my art for my Masters degree and learned so much about my art through the studio classes.

The instructors at NH Institute of Art were really helpful to make us think about why we create and how we create our art to show the message and meanings within our artwork.   The online classes at NHIA  for art education were very interesting.

Graduation  with a Master of Arts in Art Education from a small school was a great celebration and new friendships.

Screen project. ... Fall Pumpkin instead.
